holbrooki pics, and a question.

Steve_Craig May 08, 2007 04:04 PM

Here's some feeding pics of my 06 female. Also have a question for the holbrooki keepers. Does the yellow on on hatchlings and yearlings stay the same? Or does it decrease/increase in its intensity once they reach adulthood? I know Todd has some bright yellow speckleds. Todd, what did the yellow look like on yours when they were babies? My female has some nice yellow and it might be all in my head, but it seems like her yellow is turning a little brigher as she gets older. Thanks,
Steve

I'm gonna say it varies, but most of mine seem to get better yellows with age! I had an older adult male that had some orange tones to his sidewalls, don't know if he had that color out of the egg or not, but I've seen some with orange bellies as neonates that lost the orange. Most of mine are born dark and the specks come in later, yours seems to have some great speckling early on, you had better get some shades pretty soon!

If my female turns out half as yellow as some of your holbrooki, I'll be pretty stoked. And I agree, I think my little female will be very speckled as an adult. Holbrooki are awesome kings. One of my favorites.

Great pics. Both you guys some beauties. My '05 holbrooki seems to be getting a bit brighter as she's getting older.
