Question for RSG

rottenweiler9 May 08, 2007 07:29 PM

When doing the trough, I went to the Home Depot to get the lighting for this, and they suggested I should have a junction box. Although when I look at everyone who has a trough cage, I do not see junction boxes. Why would they tell me I need one?

Thank you
Jeff

For safty reasons. If your mounting the lite on wood, then use a junction box. But if your mounting it on lexan, then there is not need for a junction box.

Plus, thats how they stay in business. Cheers

It's the most expensive grade of plexiglasses available. People line their windows w/ it on golf courses and on the coast in Florida b/c you can launch a cannon at it and it won't break.

Plexiglass is a trade name for a clear acrylic plasitc. Lexan is a trade name for Polycarbonate plastic. Acrylic is softer(less expensive) and scratches very easily. Polycarbonate is stronger and harder to scratch. It also can be purchased in a even more scratch resistant version, Lexan M5, I believe. It's polycarbonate with a uv and scratch resistant coating.
