Sheding during gestation

Warren_Booth May 09, 2007 10:33 AM

How many of you have had females shed during gestation. I have a female het albino who is now 66 days past her post-voulation slough. I looked on her last night and noticed her eyes clouding over. I have not observed my females shedding mid gestation too often, in fact, I only ever recall this once with a sonoran boa several years ago. Sadly I misplaced all my records when I moved country. So my question is this, how many of you have females that shed mid gestation.

will shed. From my experience with different females, they do that about 34 days before giving birth.

Sounds about right to me. This girl, as I say, is 65 days in to her gestation. Giving her about 7 to 10 days to slough will being her to 75, so with the 30 to 35 days post slough puts her right on target for babies.
Thanks for the confirmation. I just wanted some varification as I have observed this in the past, but without my records, I could not be 100% sure of how many days prior to parturition the female sloughed.
Thanks again,

Warren

Just to throw this out there..... of the three succesful litters we've produced (All from different females). All of the females shed durring gestation. If I recorded the dates, I wouldnt know where to look for them! So I cant help you with that part.
