Langry Alterna Morph

stevenxowens792 May 09, 2007 01:16 PM

When was the last Alterna morph caught in or around Langtry?

I remember Dan getting an Eagles Nest in the early 90s that was absolutely awesome. Any others since then?

Thanks John H. for reminding me about this. I have been wanting to ask and your mention of that one in 1976 sparked my memory.

Best Wishes to all this year.

Anderson and Fraser caught one just past the RR tracks on pandale maybe 20 years ago. I saw another caught a few miles w. of Lnagtry on hwy 90 in he early 90's. Those are the only alterna I can think of from western Val Verde.

Dave Long (with 3 other herpers in the vehicle) found a very light alterna morph at Langtry around 1994. I believe it was found on Hwy. 90 on the first cut west of the Pandale dirt rd. turnoff and I think the guy who actually saw it first was named James.

The most consistent supply of alterna morphs near Langtry came from approx 7-8 miles up the Pandale dirt, the arroyo at the old sheep sign. Not sure if the sign is there or not. Other than that place it's one here, one there, etc.

Caught two Langtry grays a few years ago. Some of the best looking grays in my opinion. Ah heck, love'em all!
