very tempted to try the beetles I been seeing outside, think they're called June Beetle.
when i lived in south western Colorado, their were HUGE grass hoppers out there, and they were all over the bike path into town, so i went to the dollar store and bought a hot pink butterfly net, and went and caught like 24 of them, i put them in a critter keeper, and i feed them various greens and flowers for two weeks, if they surivived for two weeks i figuered that no pesticides were being used when i collected them, and i froze them. then i would thaw them out as i needed them and fed them off, my Pyxie loved them. now that i am back east, we dont have grass hoppers nearly that size, we have some good ones, but the ones out west were HUGE
