Leucistic iguanas ?

mikean May 09, 2007 03:25 PM

does anyone have any links to pictures or descriptions of leucistic iggies. Or any of the different morphs.

I have just taken care of a poorly iggy who is fairly whiteish, or very light at least with dark coloured eyes.

She certainly is different to any other iggy I have seen, way different to my little male.

Thanks

Mike

I have seen albino iguanas, but never seen a leucistic.
A true leucistic would be white with dark eyes, unlike albinos that have red/pinkish eyes.

Could you please post a picture? I'm very curious!

Here a couple of pics.

I know she doesn't look great but she's only just come in from a rescue. But on the plus side shes fairly calm and shes eaten from the bowl and from my hand, which is not bad for the first night.

As you can see, even with my camera she's fairly light coloured and you can see her eye's are not the normal gold. They are def a dark blue or black, you can still see the pupil fine and the outer part of eye is white/grey.

She may not be a morph at all, just a locality but she came in as a standard green iggy and she looks different from any I've seen.
