Oooohhh, that is a beauty! I recently finished a paper on the prasinus complex to be puiblished soon I hope, including husbandry, natural history, distribution, species'. A week or so ago, another member of this complex was described, Varanus bohmei. I do not have the details yet, but soon. I bvelieve it is another Bali-herpetofauna discovery as V. macraei is/was.

V. macraei is known to several islands west of PNG Birds Head, Misool, Batanta, Salawati (?), Bird's Head Peninsula itself.

I know of a few V. macraei keepers. If your interested, email me.
