I think that's last years baby. It's too early in the season for Pits. I think......

Where was that collected??? Looks alot like a bull to me.

...unless they have way more variation then I thought. Of course it could just be the region I used to live and collect pacifics in may have been different.

But none of the pacifics I had or saw in the wild had that narrow and rectangular of saddles on them. I'm no expert by any means though so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sean.

Is that the same snake in both pics? Looking @ it again, and hearing it's from up in Washington, that snake looks like it could be an intergrade. Just a guess.

the snake in the first pic was a juvie at about 2.5 feet the other one was about 9" they were both found in bingen washington. are you thinking pacific and basin? heres some more pics of similar looking snakes found in central or. these are also two different snakes as well.

i threw in the southern alligator cause i love the attitude when you catch these guys.

Alligator lizards are cool. I've run ito a few people in SoCal that enjoy keeping them. I just like to catch them and let them go. Love their 'tude.
I'm no expert, and I'd love to actually get up north and check out P.c. catenifers from different locales. The snakes you have pictured there look like pics I've seen of Pacifics. I think there are a few sites w/ range maps for herps of Oregon & Washington. I'm wondering how current the range maps are & how often they're updated. I found a SD which a few of my herp friends say looks to be integraded w/ Great Basin, but she's straight from the heart of SD range. i also saw another pic of an SD from Thousand Oaks, CA that had dorsal markings similar to a GB. Love the pics.
