Renegade Ricky Passes Away

RussBates May 10, 2007 04:19 AM

For those of you who may know him, Renegade Reptiles founder and owner Rick Trenny passed away yesterday at the young age of 56. This is a really big loss for our hobby as Ricky was a great guy who loved his snakes and maintained a super collection. Probably best known for producing the finest in california king morphs and albino hognose, Rick loved them all.

I will forever remember Rick because he sold me my first thayeri. Life is too short.

May your prayers be with his wife Becky at her time of loss.

Russ

Oh no... that is really sad! That is a very young age to go. I have one of his animals, a Nelson's Milksnake. This is a loss to our hobby. My thoughts go to his wife.

Wow. That's tragic news. While I have never purchased anything from him I know he was a great guy, and this hobby will sadly miss him. My prayers also go out to his wife Becky. I can't imagine losing your spouse at such a young age.

I never knew him, but I knew of him and he indeed had an influence on the interests of my son and I when my son was just a young boy and we were first developing our interest in kingsnakes. His site was one we frequented often to drool over his second -to-none California Kings. I can honestly say Rick and his Cal Kings were the biggest influence in my son’s interest and me buying him his first Cal King. Unfortunately I didn’t buy one of Rick’s animals, although I do feel he was responsible for that sincere interest I noticed in my little boy that prompted me to buy him his first Cal King. My son still has that snake to this day and it’s always been his favorite serpent buddy.

Thank you Ricky… you made a difference, and it will be forever appreciated, you will always be remembered by many. Prayers go out to your wife and family for strength and courage in a very desperate time.
