Anyone else...

Have experience with female Northern Pines throwing infertile slugs without contact with a male? I have a pair of cb 2003 N. pines (Trumbower stock), but they're kept in seperate enclosures and the other day I looked in on the female and she had laid 2 infertile eggs...These snakes have not had direct contact with each other, but they are both approaching 6 feet long and are healthy.

Anyone else have experience with this happening? Thanks....

Yes,
If the females are robust and ready to ovulate they will and do throw slugs even if there isn't a male in the area of the female's.

They are designed by nature to reproduce when they are ready.
