Too Expensive!!

jimmyeo3 May 10, 2007 12:18 PM

Anyone want to donate any ball python morphs?? Hehe i wish. Well i got my first clutch this year from a 100% het ghost to a normal, so maybe i can breed the father back to the daughters to get some ghosts in a couple years. Or hopefully i can save up for a female het ghost and get some sooner. I love the balls but its an expensive hobby.

You are right about that , I have decided to create all my own morphs thats why I only buy 100% hets now , it takes longer but it will save me a fortune and I will enjoy my hobby/buisness without going broke. I now spend the majority of money on vision racks once I get up to six vision racks than I will have the capcity to house more of the morphs that I plan on creating myself in the next 4 years. I love this hobby/buisness good luck and breeding.

The problem with that approach is prices keep frickin dropping.
I bought a pastel male a little less then a year ago. Hatchling. Paid $550 shipped for him. Now I see pastel males for $75 in the classifieds.
Not...cool.

Yea i guess thats pretty cheap, but im a full time college student!!! Anyway I have a het yellow ghost male, and i see a lot of other het ghosts out there but not for the yellow ghost. And no one ever sells females separate......

jyohe May 10, 2007 04:20 PM

yellow and orange and green and butterscotch are all the same thing.......only different.....

they sell only females cause the price is for a female.....at like $300 a pair.......we just give you the male free....males aren't worth much.....

Wow, no dots, is Hell freezing over too

By the way, your $400 "pair" price would be for HET Ghosts, not Ghosts.

You should sell your 100% male this coming fall right when the beeding season starts. He will sell faster and for more money at that time.

In the mean time raise up his daughters and when your getting closer to the daughters from the first 100% male being of breeding age, you should buy another 100% male to breed to them.

This way you will:

A) Ensure new blood into the line.
B) You wont have to feed and care for the 100% male for 1 or 2 years and you can re-invest the money in something else during this time.
C) By the time you purchase the new male, prices will most likely fall and you will be saving money.
