How many turtles did you plan to acquire, and how long did you want to keep them in the aquarium?

An aquarium is not really an appropriate long-term housing option for a box turtle: the only exception would be if it were used temporarily to house a hatchling or two, but they would outgrow it pretty quickly. Even a 75 gallon one.

Adult box turtles need lots of room to roam around, preferably outside for at least part of the year, so an aquarium the size you mentioned wouldn't be large enough for even just one adult.

I would strongly say don't get a box turtle if you plan on keeping it a 75 gallon or any indoor aquarium. I would suggest going with some sort of aquatic turtle, or if you really want a box turtle go with a hatchling. I would not get an adult box turtle it would not be happy in a glass aquarium

I think an aquatic painted turtle would be very happy in a 75 gallon tank. They don't get to be all that large & 75 gallons would give a painted a lot of room to swim.

I agree with everyone else, it's not really a long term housing option for a box turtle.

ditto to those...outside is usually best

On a "good breeder"...try to contact a rescue organization. If you aren't picky about the specific subspecies of box turtle, it is very easy to rescue an individual or several from one of the many rescue organizations across the country. On the main kingsnake.com page is now a link on the left hand side specifially for rescue. Good luck.
