not surprised by te price at all.. look at how many people are breeding them today. shoot, albino tigers are barely pulling 1000 bux a pc. compared to 2-3 years ago this market has pretty much died just like the albino burmese.
nowadays in order to keep a decent price youve practially gotta keep all your hets and possible, raise them, breed them to the originals and then sell that offspring. the minute possibles and hets get released into the market itll only be a couple years before that market is dead from oversaturation. not to mention the people who advertise falsely labeled animals to people wo really dont know what they are looking for. sometimes i think theyre are more snakes behid the tables than in the cages with what ive witnessed.
people think breeding is soo cool and it is but alot dont realize 30 - 40 babies is alot of time, money and caging to accomodate. and thats only off of one female. you breed a couple and you got at least 100 comin. its not a get rich quick hobby by no means, in fact ill probably never really make back what i have into my collection. i personally dont care if i do or not but alot of people ive met or talked to got into this thinkin "im gonna make a mint." then when they are sittin on 50 animals with no market for them what do they do??? nuthin but a viscious cycle but if you love it then i guess you just deal with it huh? if you wnat to make money in the snake industry.........................breed rats or rabbits!lol
