Morris County Kansas. When I first saw it I thought I had found the ultimate cornsnake. But I knew that was unlikely.Anyway after looking around on the internet I realized it was a ratsnake.I dont know if I'll keep it.I usually dont keep WC but it is very tempting. He already ate a ratpup for me.

GPR's are still considered, by some, to be a subspecies of the corn snake, but other taxonomists have elevated them to full species status. That's a nice, healthy looking wc, btw, and thanks for the locality info.

Corn Snakes are Rat Snakes. Another name for a Corn Snake is a Red rat Snake. That is a very nice looking emoryi.

That's funny you mentioned that!!.......they used to call them "Red Rats" all the time in the 60's and 70's...even in many of the snake books of the day!........me and my neighborhood snake buddies never called them "cornsnakes",......That didn't sound as "cool" to us as "Red Rat"!LOL....those were GREAT times!
