The ongoing excitement in the armata tank...

Joe Aug 15, 2003 12:05 AM

I know I have mentioned a few times that I have caught the armata's displaying and chasing in their tank. This evening however, I walked up to the tank to peek in and see what was going on and I caught them in a very similar position to that of 2 green anoles mating (I have seen that 100 times now with the 2 that I have...they get annoying sometimes with their displays...lol). I immediately walked away as not to disturb them but took a look about 10 minutes later and they were still up near the same spot, but the male wasn't curled around the female anymore. I am about 95% sure they were either mating, about to mate, or just finished, but I didn't look long enough to check for sure so I wouldn't disrupt them and stop them if they were. I will definitely have to start keeping in eye out for digging from the female, probably not soon, but within about 3 months. Wish them luck!!!

Make sure you collect data and keep good track of dates. A. armata still needs documentation!

Do keep us posted and share any progress!
