amarali with a nice stripe. Aberrancies are fairly common in amarali. That is a very nice boa. Congrats on the addition.

With the color and unique pattern I'd go a step further and venture that she is a Brazilian amarali. I haven't seen patterns like that in the Bolivian amarali.

You two know your boas. Thats exactly what she was sold to me as. She is a looker that is for sure. just not sure how or if she will fit into my breeding projects.

that isn't exactly a boa that would be mis-labeled. Unless it was stolen and re-sold.
Barry Miller produces some nice Brazilian amarali. He has a lot of stuff with no saddles, that would be interesting bred to that crazy stripe.
I think there was a genetic stripe Brazilian, do you know if yours is genetic?

I would have to say no its not genetic. If it is the guy I got it from did not say it was. Any idea what it would be worth. I do not like the idea of crossing differnt locals. i only have 2 other boas. They are het albinos from Petes line. So it would not fit in with them.

Crossing that snake goes beyond locale cross and into subspecies, and that I feel is taking it too far.
Anyway. Not really sure on value of Brazilian amarali, I keep Bolivians. I'd say that boa falls anywhere between $400-$1200. That is a common range for most good lines of amarali.

Thanks for the help. It is probally best to get it into someones hands who could make some more of them and put it to good use. Again thanks for your time and info.

be 100% South Brazilian, but when a thread is began in that manner, I always assume the person posting does not have specific information. South Brazilains are known to throw pattern aberrancies, but there could be Bolivian blood floating around. If the breeder did not sell the animal as 100% South Brazilian (which doesn't always mean much these days), she certainly should not be presented as such. Therefore, simply stating she is amarali suited the best description in my opinion.

A female south Brazilian I produced in 02. Neville James proved out a line of striped south Brazilians, and there are a fair number floating around out there from his breedings.

Miller Reptiles
He/She looks alot like some of the South Brazilans produced by Bill Cagle a few years back. I can't find the exact animal on his site, but there are a few on there that definitely look like they could have been littermates to that animal. I have been doing this way to long amazing the things you remember when it is a wicked group of animals. Anyway go check Bills site out and let me know what you think. Look under Misc. Boas!!!

You may be thinking of the one I posted above. I sold that one to Bill along with a bunch of others.
Yeah, I just figured Bill produced it, but since you say you did I will believe you. Just trying to shed some light on locality. Bill does have a few animals on his site that are dead ringers for the one posted above. Shows you how locality info can get all messed up after a animal changes hands a few times.
