I have several females that will be laying eggs in about a week or so. They don't seem to want to use the hide boxes that I have put in there for them though. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do about it?

I was worried during my first year of breeding that the snakes did not want to use their nest boxes. I ended up putting two nest boxes in, with different material (moss or vermiculite), and at different ends of the cages.
But keep in mind that the snake may not be interested in a nest box until just days before laying. As long as the snake knows it is there. I put my snakes either near the entrance or in the box once, then keep an eye on them in the days before the lay. Most snakes (mine anyway) get real restless before laying. They will root around in their box, come out, roam the cage then do it all over again. Usually the day or two before, they will go in the box and dig, stay in for a full day and then lay.
Although, one snake I have loved to stay in her nest box this year, but when it came to laying, she pushed the box to the side and had her eggs right in the open. Go figure.
make sure the boxes are dark, moist enough, but not too moist, and not too hot or cold.
Good luck
