Whats up with that.I thought if I bred a het dumbo to a het dumbo I should get at least 1/4 dumbos...I got one female dumbo out of all twenty babies(that was a large litter too). What a jip though.....They had some dumbos at the petstore but I want to breed my own, darn it...

Statistics suck. You have a 25% chance....working verb is 'CHANCE' of getting dumbos.
I have het hairless dumbos. Had a very pure line for a wild but they suck for feeders for production and I let them die out for the most part.
Just saw one of my blazed litters has mingled enough that there is a hairless in it....maybe dumbo, didn't look too too close. But there were dumbo littermates. Of 12 in the litter only one hairless. Last litter was half and half. Statistics.

Now, when you say "het", do you mean both of their parents were dumbo or only one? Because if only one, you've got the dominant standard ear gene multiple times over the recessive dumbo gene. You would be lucky to get the one dumbo.

Try breeding your "het" dumbo to a pure dumbo, you should have much better luck.

It's like black rats... even if they had parents who were fancy colors, if you breed two black rats together, you will probably just get blacks. That's because black is a highly dominant gene. Dumbo is highly recessive. And that is why you didn't get many dumbos.
