Is the amount of white a trait that is passed on?

The amount of white doesnt determine the amount of white the offspring will have. You can have a het to a 5% white pied produce a 90% pied. It doesnt matter at all Hope this helps

As far as I know there is no way to choose how much white you get by selecting the parents, I am going to look at a piebald next week that is about 50/50 and thats the way I like them, they can have too little aswell as too much white if you ask me but high whites tend to fetch more money. Look at the spider pied from Roussis Reptiles for example, How much nicer would that have been with less white. (Hopefully no offence taken Lol)
