Finally Eating after 9 Months!

jimmyeo3 May 14, 2007 09:07 AM

Well after almost 9 months of no eating, well the 9 months i had her...... i finally got her to take 1 adult mouse. It was actually getting to the point where i didnt think she was going to make it. Thank God!! Also my female that layed on the 4th took a large mouse without hesitation, it seemed like she hadnt eaten in 10 years.....haha, does anyone else's females seem like they go crazy after they lay their first time? She is eating but she seems like she is always on the defensive now striking when ever i go near, and she was never like this before she layed? Weird.

I find most of mine eat like crazy and gain most if not all of their weight back in less than a year.

My female used to be 'picky', but now she's essentially a rat garbage disposal. Anyone doesn't eat their chow, she snaps it right up! Not grumpy at all though.

maybe the scent of her eggs is still in her enclosure??

No she shouldnt have the egg sent because she layed for the guy i bought her from then he shiped her to me. She was already very skinny, with stuck shed, and i tried evrything and after 9 months she finally took a mouse. Then again last night i fed her 4 more mice. Im really excited, i really didnt think she would make it.
