Striped greeri

Burnsy May 14, 2007 09:43 AM

Hi,

I feel that the time is good now to go ahead with this pic.

He sired his mom and she dropped 3 good eggs today. So cross your fingers that this might be a recessive trait.

Wow... that thing is nuts! I've never heard of them being striped before. How did you come across this one? Just pop out of one of your clutches? Very cool!

Hi,

he was produced in the states and then made his way back into my collection.

Hi Gerrit,

It was here in the US and the trait was never proven genetic while it was here.

Good luck with it, I hope something exciting happens for you.

Hi,

well, as far as I know he was never bred back to his mom. So this is the first time we can see if this is a genetic trait.

Cross all your fingers, LOL,

...and toes crossed!

You have a very fine collection I must say, nice mexicana and a few of your hypo greeri are some of the better I've seen, appearing more like true hypomelanism with a brown-ish coloration where black should be... as opposed to simply a drastically reduced black pattern. Nice to see that.

With your dark phase long-blotched or striped alterna "blairi"... have you been able to successfully reproduce that trait?

Burnsy May 15, 2007 07:10 AM

Maybe you can also cross your legs and arms if that helps.....

Thanks for the compliments on my collection. I'm still not 100% sure if the greeri is a hypo or just a super light phase.

The alterna did breed the first time this year, no eggs till yet, but I hope I can at least get some long blotched out of this.

Wow... you got some really nice porn shots there! And man.... I can't WAIT to see babies from the pairings in the 4th pic down (oranges) and in the 2nd to last picture (white/green). Looks like I may be picking up some babies from you this year!

Thanks Aubrey... and this isn't porn, it's herpetoculture.

This pair hasn't bred successfully, the female isn't quite ready but she's doing all the right things and seems very relaxed with this white male. Wish them great success, the female's mother is a stellar white leonis...

waspinator421 May 16, 2007 12:17 PM

I hope they get it all figured out.... I wouldn't mind adding more whites to my collection.

I hope so too Aubrey, and they should produce something more interesting than just white thayeri babies... the female's sire was a remarkable and severely reduced black leonis of a very light buckskin or pale orange color, and two of her siblings were a couple of the best looking pinners.

Wow, these are some killer animals.

Some remind me to my male breeder.

Reply received, I look forward to sharing notes.

Your male in the photo is indeed very similar to my yellow pair, particularly the female with her bold pattern and similar orange color in her saddles. Very nice male you have there with an interesting head pattern.

Thanks again and I'll talk with you soon.

This orange male is a 2004 Ric Blair snake...

Paired up here with a 2003 VR female. He's proving to be quite the breeding machine... he was a virgin male and he hooked up with these two virgin females on their first introduction...

Another 2003 pair, Vermilya male(wide saddles) and a VR female(narrow saddles). The VR female is squeaky clean and 100% speckle free. Also a virgin pair that quickly figured it all out on the first go-round. These two have bred twice now...

These were also virgins with first attempt success…

We’ll see what fertility has in store for us over here this year. All of the above females bred pre-shed. There are 4 more virgin females needing a little more time to get ready, I expect them all to go after they have their post brumation shed. 9 virgin pairs over here all making the right moves so far, including one mex mex pair. Looks like they all may be good to me after raising them for the past 3-4 years. Let’s hope fertility is good as well!

Hi Mike

Nice to see one of my little girls all grown up and breeding! Looks like you're going to have a big year this season. And man, kudos with the breeding pair choices. Good luck my friend and talk to you soon.

Hey Jonel,

Your two girls will both make us proud this year my friend.

Cheerios is just one fantastic young female, she has always done everything extremely well and I expect her to be a good producer as well. This has been a long anticipated pairing but I have a feeling it's going to be well worth the wait. It was a tough decision between the yellow male and the white leonis, but she'll get to meet the white male next year if all goes well for her, and I'm confident everything will.

Talk with you soon...

Gerrit you have an awesome collection, and a really cool site. Who did your Thayeri come from? Mike those lava reds are out of this world! I would like to have a pair from them also. That's fantastic luck on all those virgin pairings. I hope everything goes great for you.
Ken

mexicanamak May 17, 2007 10:28 PM

Thanks Ken, I hope all goes well here too. The first four virgin pairs have all bred well twice now, the milksnake phase male is handling his two big girls like an experienced veteran.

Keep in touch.
