tinted glass

Morgan_So_Cal May 14, 2007 03:12 PM

I've had some luck using tinted glass on my tortoise enclosures to thwart the constant "walking through glass". Would this also work to stop Uro's from wall-walking? I've already swapped out the clear plate glass sliding doors on my blue tongue skink/tort's enclosures and it is working well.

I knew Uro's do a lot of this behavior. If someone tries, let me know any results.

The only tinting I've seen is the after-market applied stuff which I would think would scratch up too easily and often looks tinted from both sides. But if it's the "in-glass" tint that looks clear from one side, tinted only from the other side, it seems like a great idea.

yeah... i replaced the glass sliders with "real" darker glass. It was very cheap too. I went to a glass shop (i think most of their business was replacing broken window panes), gave them measurements, and it was only $13 for each set of 2 sliding doors.

It has definately cut down on the tortoise clunking.
