Delays with airlines and customs made them 24 hours longer than we expected. But they are here and set up.... The guy handling them on the receiving end from customs let me meet him at the airport cargo delivery, rather than having to wait another 2-3 hours and driving further to get them, I was frantic at that point and I think he knew we would have a crazed woman on his hands if there were 5 minutes longer than I could legally get my hands on them!! He was just opening them when we got there as we had a long drive, unfortunately two of the smallest ones did not make it.
Of course I was upset, but I actually thought it would be worse since they were longer in arriving than we ever expected, yesterday I was sure none would make it by the time we got the call they were on the final flight and would arrive in 2 hours. They were delayed in customs and then we had to wait til another flight could be arranged from Miami (believe me, I was one step away from driving to Miami yesterday!)
Axe and I spent 1 and 1/2 hours in the Walgreens parking lot near the airport with the back of the van opened, giving them pedialite, misting them, separating them and making sure they were all hydrated before we drove the hour and 1/2 back home with them.
They are all set up with UVB heat and that really perked them up.... keeping fingers crossed for the rest. Several have eaten salads and we will add circkets today. I was surprised that several of them have nice colors and some real nice patterns.
