My first monitor was a Philippine water monitor (salvator marmoratus) that I kept 17 years, in this time it grew from 40in TL to 44in TL.
my first was a 3 ft nile that was mean as heck... i worked w/ him for a while gained its trust after about 6 months.. then kept it for about 6 years.i ended up giving it to a frined who also loved it and gave it a hole room to itself. i see it once in a blue moon, but yea, my first monitor turned out to be a good success so i continue working w/ a few differnt species.
have a nice day
