Locality Info ???

ginter May 15, 2007 01:58 PM

is any one out there aware of known localities for striped pacific gophers? Kane once told me that there was a northern California valley population where one could find them with relative consistantcy. I have however long since forgotten what valley/region he spoke of.

Back in the early 90s I found one in Pinole, CA.
It was a neonate.

Good post. I've seen pics of Striped Pacifics, but no locale info on them. I made a similar inquiry about striped San Diegos, but got "0" info. Good luck.

Hi John

I've heared of that "rumor" too . I will let you know if I come across one while herping. For the meantime, here's a pacific from Sta Cruz County with a really high blotch count that some friends and I encountered while out in the field. Reminds me of an annectens. What do you think?

Nice clear pic of the banding. Looks like the annectens here in Chatsworth, CA in Browns Canyon. I found another one (like the female in the previous post) today.
