Claudia, my Everglades, is looking more beautiful each day, I think!
Here she is as a hatchling. I couldn't believe she was really an Everglades. This little brown thing? Seriously? You mean she isn't just a black rat? I picked her up on a whim at a herp show, and I figured even if she turned out to be another variety, I love rat snakes of all flavors! And she has a marvelous, mellow personality. Never musked or tail-rattled at me; my Bairdi is still a feisty little girl, but Claudia's sweet as pie.

She really IS an Everglades after all! Every time I turn around, she gets more orange! She lives on my desk, so I watch her all the time, but I'm still amazed at her color progression. And she loves to climb onto her hammock and jungle vine (vine's from Black Jungle, called a "monkey ladder"
