I just got a notice that HB 2414 was read in the Senate and referred to the Natural Resources Committee.

Here's a link to the committee membership.

is this his original version or are the amendmants attached to it? or do the amendments get voted on seperately?

The amended version with the herp exclusion was passed by the House sent to the Senate.

Hopefully, the Senate will put it on their consent calendar and pass it as amended. If the Senate amends it in any way, it will have to go back conference committee (in which case it would likely run out of time and die).

Here's a link to the current text of the bill.

Eby,

After reading the posts herp on the GB Froum, I would like to thank everyone for their efforts to add some reason to Wildlife Legislation...living over in Georgia, I appreciate y'alls efforts to this end. As a fan of GB's and other Mexicana's, I really want to thank y'all. I sincerely hope that the Texas Senate adopts the "Amended" HB 2414...I know that it's not perfect but, after considering what it could have been...well, thanks to the efforts of some of the "old timers" like Lloyd Lemke and others back in the late 70's...we have Thayeri's available in the CB Herp Community (for me to enjoy in my collection) today. I'd hate to see that happened in Meixco regarding their fuana export ban happen here in the US (Texas)...

I see Eastern Kings available for sale from other breeders across the nation on KS.com but, they are illegal for me to have here in Georgia (along with many other animals indigenous to Georgia)...from what I've read on the GB Forum, at least y'all have a diagoue with the lawmakers there in Texas...that is a luxury not shared in other states.

I'm not trying to create a ruckous here with my post...I'm just saying that at least HB 2414 (Amended) is a positive step...granted a small one...in the right direction. It is good to see that an active Herp Community can have an impact on wildlife legislation which is a positive thing...only my opinion.

Again, thanks to all.
Jim.
