Tomorrow we're going to NM again. Last time we went it was almost fall, this time it's just now spring. I hope I find some boxies to photograph this time.
Last time we went that way & I did see some, it was in the month of June, not August.. so I'm going to have my fingers crossed.
I'll post the pics when I get back if there are any.

I bet you'll see some! I think they're harder to find when it's hotter out.

I just can't wait to see the pictures! I think Desert Box turtles are so beautiful.

Well I so looked forward to seeing a turtle or several but it rained on us the entire way to NM on Thursday. It was sunny on Friday morning so we went to the big motorcycle rally and because of that we went on a poker run to Cloudcroft & back to Ruidoso which is all in the mountains then... it didn't just rain, it sleeted!!!
We ended up trying to get back to our cabin through 2 inches of ice pelting us! I thought then ok this is it we will never see a turtle now.
It rained Saturday so we ended up driving in the truck to Lincoln to see all the Billy the Kid museum stuff.

It cleared up on Sunday as we came home (of course! lol) but it was still so chilly that we didn't see any reptiles at all.
We did get pics of wild pronghorn antelope & saw a skunk run across the road in broad daylight but sadly.. that's it.

People who live in Ruidoso told us it never rains in May. It was raining here on Wednesday, apparently all the rain followed us.
It was fun but wet.
Oh well..... maybe next time. :-x
