mootish May 16, 2007 10:20 AM

SO , my two newest geckos are still not eatting ..
they havent ate for like 2 weeks now .. ( maybe like 1 cricket in a week .. which yeah i know its aa not a good sign

i just dont understand why ? ...
ive tryed the puting like a cover over them and feeding them mealworms and crickets... at first they seemed interested in the meal worms but then they werent interested anymore

there temps are still 88- 90 and there cool side is 70 , they have water and pure calcuim without D3
they also have there humid hut and normal hut .. along with a extra hut too ( in a ten gallon )
yes i know ive posted before , but im like so confused ? could they possibley still stressed out or now there not eating for a reason ... should i take them to a vet ? my rep vet of corse ? .. only problem there is my car at the moment is not working ..

anyone have ideas ? would be so helpful ..

( heres pics but of corse there tails are much smaller now from not eating

You still dont have any luck?

Did you try to soak them incase of impaction?

At this point I would be very confused myself so dont worry about the posts, this place is public Id post as many times as I felt if I felt like posting alot.

Is there any lethargy showing at this point? Are they getting weak? Try takeing out the calcium dish, this sounds strange but I have had a few Leos get stubborn and eat mostly calcium....I was like What the heck why arent they eating then I seen that they were eating the calcium alot at night as I decided to stay up late and watch them.

dont feed them in the morning feed them at night and then take the uneaten out in the morning. there is this stuff called JumpStart for reptiles. it works for my stuborn geckos that wont eat. its like maybe 11 dollars and you order it of the net. the directions on it are for large reptiles like iguanas so what i do is: squeeze about an inch of the paste out and put it in a cup. then i boil some water and add just a little bit to the paste, like maybe a tablespoon of water. then you gotta mix it while its still hot until the chunks are gone. then once its mixed put it in the refridgerator so it cools. then once cooled put some in an eye dropper and just drop some on your nose of your gecko until it licks up about a teaspoon of it. do this about a 1/2 hour befor you go to bed and feed them. if that amount doesnt work either make the solution stronger or just feed your gecko a little more the next night. if it works maybe do it every other day for about a week until you dont need to anymore. this always works for me. just be carefull because the stuff kinda stains a little bit. if you try this good luck.

How about size? I know you know what your doing if you frequent Mikes shop but...are the crickets realy big and are they Mikes super gutloaded monsters? Those things can be huge!

I would suggest moon drops, that Idea on useing Jumpstart sounds good but its still risky with Leos and smaller Reptiles.

I used moon drops on bad Tokays allready and they perked up fast, real fast.

what are moon drops ?

mootish May 18, 2007 05:06 AM

also im using 1/4 size crickets for my little geckosand small mealworms for my baby geckos

O I C, I was thinking maybe they were eating little but big enough crickets that it would fill them up.

Moon drops or even Hydro life are to help with vitamins and add electorlytes to the reptiles system like Jumpstart would. Moon drops are ment for nocturnal species.
