277 Tonight

chris_mcmartin May 16, 2007 11:12 AM

For a variety of reasons, I didn't make it out last night, will try tonight--keeping an eye on the showers to the west.

I heard that Mike from River City Exotics in San Antonio caught 2 animals on Juno last night, dont know how good the source is, but thats what I heard.

If it was high last night I would call BS to the claim of 2 animals. 1 is possible. Who knows... anything is possible. Just not likely. Especially if the roads are still flooded.

Anyone know what the pressure was last night?

Good Luck,

Steven

my friend hunted 277 and juno road last night from 7:00 pm until 3:00 am. he did not see one single snake...

Rak May 16, 2007 01:53 PM

I hunted from 9-12. I started on Juno, but the jeep decided to give me fits, so i limped back to comstock at dark. Luckily the jeep decided to cooperate at that point, so I made a few passes around Seminole.
Saw
1 hypsie
1 Atrox

I did see a Red truck heading toward Langtry, that I had seen earlier on Juno (Herpers?). That was around 10:30, that signaled to me Juno was not that great either. Started sprinkling around 11:00 and headed in.

Checked conditions when I got home,
Pressure (approx)
30.08 Del Rio
30.13 Dryden

That was us, the red truck. We saw you leaving Juno and then later coming in from Seminole. We saw a DOR suboc and DOR Bairds east of Langtry but nothing else.

Steve-O,
Last night and the night before the wind was out of the SE in Val Verde, as opposed to the two nights prior to those where it out of the north.

I was expecting someone would find something either Monday or Tuesday. Both Monday and Tuesday evening there was an upper level high, but by last night there was a low sliding down from the north under the high.

Weather wise I was wishing to be out there, plus the fact that Val Verde historically becomes really active about mid May.

While Berardi's finds may have an air of BS, they are not unreasonable. I've doubled up on Juno several times.

Bottom line, they were out looking, we are here reading.

stevenxowens792 May 17, 2007 01:06 PM

Yes I know we are reading. Just curious of other vehicles saw anyone else. It is too easy these days for someone to buy an alterna and claim it as WC. Granted I guess anyone can do it but I know that most of us have the integrity not to do something like that.

Maybe I am just angry at the fact I have never had a 2 alterna night...

Oh well... Maybe later this year.

Best Wishes,

Steven

well it turns out neither Ricky nor RAK saw anyone else up there, so we would have to assume it was BS!

Herpo May 17, 2007 03:49 PM

B.S.???? are those the initials of the individual in question, the one who often claims multiple alterna in April, 30-40 by the end of May including albinos?

Joe Forks May 17, 2007 04:04 PM

no, the initials would M.B.

BTW that was pretty funny now that you pointed it out!

saddleman May 16, 2007 05:25 PM

We were on Juno last night north of Bakers Crossing most of the time and we didn't see herps or herpers. We left about 11:00, headed to Langtry and it was 69 deg most places on Juno.

I think it's just not in the cards for me this week. Too many factors combining to make it probably not the best idea to go for a long drive...all these posts about folks falling asleep at the wheel have caused me to decide to use superior judgment to avoid a situation where I'd have to use superior driving skill!
