This might be a long post to get everything out so here we go! Ive had my iggy, corcky, for about 2 months now and I think hes doing great! He is 2 feet long, eats all his food everyday including the vitemons/calcium which I switch every day! One thing I noticed if I go in to pick him up he will run around his cage and freak out because hes not use to my hand (of course) so I have been working on putting my hand in his cage and then talk to him so he gets use to it. ONly once in awhile this works and I can pick him up and he wont freak out.
The other thing I have been doing is takeing him out into the bathroom and putting him in the bathtub (no water) so he can try and run away but wont get anywhere and ill have my hand losely around him so then he knows, "Hey im not the boss here, I cant get away!" After a minute hes fine to take out of the bathroom and he wont run away... hell walk around letme hold him pet him hes fine. Today i think we made good progress I put him on top of the couch and right away his duelap came down(a first) and he would kinda move his body away if I moved my hand near by. He would also very lighty whip his tail at me... i mean soft more like if he was just moving his body. He wouldnt run away or anything I could just reach up and pick him up no problem but when i would do this a few times he openedhis mouth at me kinda like, "how are my teeth looking do I need to go see a dentist?" He would do this for maybe 3 or 4 seconds and then close them and he was fine again. I would usely put his face close to mine and he always licks my nose, he just started to do this maybe 2 weeks ago. I think so far he is doing excellent. Im not sure what to think of his some what tail whipping. Right before I put him away i started to rub his tail after he had done that once we he didnt do it again or run away just watched like he always does. I have had leapord geckos, a savanna monitor and a bearded dragon and so far this iggy is amazing, he looks and moves his body away from objects coming towards him and he just is... easyest way to put it in intellegent almost like a child its amazing.
