breathing funny

I have a 2 year old savannah monitor. I just went on vacation for two weeks, leaving him in the care of a (fomerly) trusted pet sitter. When I came home, I found she had been quite sloppy when filling the water bowl. The bottom of the cage was soaked, and there were hundreds of tiny bugs, about the size of a needle point, crawling all over the cage. The top litter was still dry, just along the bottom was wet. I immediately removed all the litter and sanitized the cage, and the sav is currently on some clean towels. But I noticed he's pretty funny, in other words, I can hear him breathing, kinda hoarsely. And when I lifted him out of the cage, he threw up. And he's been drooling. The quickest I can get him to the vet is Monday, until then, does anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks for any help.

Definately sounds like a respiratory infection.Raise the cage temps up immediately.I kept my Water monitor temps at 100 day time/90 night time (ambient) when it got that and it cleared up without a Vet.Keep it dry heat too.You might want to find a Vet that's "on call" if it worsens over the weekend.
