Georgia Giants FINALLY produce!!!!

BlueKing May 16, 2007 02:40 PM

Just found out that my two largest Eastern kings (S GA. stock), were sucessful in breeding this year. The female (over 5 feet) and her mate (over 6 feet long) finally got results. It took her two years! Last year the female (after being gravid), refused to lay and resorbed the eggs...
But today my wife called me and told me the female laid about 10 huge eggs today!!! YES!!!!(FINALLY!) They all look good - three of them have a dark spot on them though? I'm still overseas and will be home for good, in about another week and a half... Can't wait to see those eggs. My wife said that those are the biggest kingsnake eggs she'd ever seen! I'll post some pics when I get home... This was a pleasant surprise to me.
If they make it, I should have some very big hatchlings, (they'll be easier to feed)...
(Here's an older pic of the father...)

Great news Zee! That male is a monster! The Scarlet that you caught is doing great. He actually took a f/t fuzzy yesterday.
Your collection of Easterns is awesome. I might have to get some from you someday. My Virginia Beach Eastern should be dropping her eggs this time next week. Good to here your coming home soon. Can't wait to hit the Sandhills with you again. Thanx!

Zee, congrats on the eggs. I know you'll be happy to be home. Went hiking this weekend and stumbled into this fellow. He let me get right up on him for the photo, and I didn't even notice that there was a second racer right under my feet in shed. Anyway, I know you'll be ready to get out in the fields. Look forward to seeing you again.

Yes, those okeetees are my favorite cornsnakes. Always liked the rich red and orange colors, which is why I also have a breeding (trio) of them myself...

They excommunicated him! LOL! I here rumours that he is on another forum now. The L.g.getula crowd has really taken a hit since you were gone. A few of the Motley Crew broke the rules and are now gone i.e., JETZEN and Keith Hillson. Peter Jolles, Rainer, and Frank Retes are still here, occasionally, but it's not the same. I hate to say it, but I think the Kingsnake forum has seen it's hey day. Maybe we'll see a revival with summer coming on. WELCOME HOME ZEE! I'm sure you'll be glad to be back in the good 'ole U.S.A. Beers on me the next time I see you!
