I was blessed with a great litter today.

MarcS May 16, 2007 02:57 PM

Well I knew it was time, she was all over the place last night. I had to be at work this morning at 5:30 so I checked on her before I left and she was laying in her birthing tub in a weird postition I told my wife before I left, today is the day and ofcourse she said whatever and went back to sleep. She said whatever cause past few days I kept saying shes gonna have them, shes gonna have them. Well about 8:30 this morning I got a call at work, it was my wife saying shes having them. What can I say I Told You. lol

This breeding was from a Dh Sunglow x Anery 66% Het Snow female that did not prove out as het last year.
This female is throwing me Anerys without any Anerys or Het Anerys breeding her. Last year a Albino bred her and she had 1 Anery this year she had 2 from a Dh Sunglow.

I believe the count is 30-31 live and 14 slugs.

Hope you liked.

Has she ever been bred by an Amery? That is really wild! Congratulations!

I have heard of it happening before too. Only anerys too, so it must have something to do with how anerythricism happens. Pretty wierd : ) But very cool!

Marc, I've heard about that happening with Anerys, Albinos and VPI Carmel Albinos. In each case the female was the morph. And the male never carried the other gene (proven by breeding to other animals). Most people say fluke, but I am still sticking by my theory of Parthenogenisis. Not complete, because the rest of the litter is what it should be, but partial. The most babies that have ever been born of the homozygous form in such a breeding was 3, usually it seems to be 2 for some reason.

Cool regardless of the reason!
