its a guy I just bought him today.. He doesnt really seem to like the light on him. He just kind of sits in the corner and squints his eyes a bit. I thought it might be too hot for him but the thermometer on his wall read 90 degrees. It is night now though and i put a black light on him and he loves it!

I haven't named him yet though.. anyone have any ideas?

he looks just like my patternless, very nice looking. i would suggest not having sand though. try paper, tile, or carpet, it provides much less hazards for compaction.

Also you might want to consider more hides. they stay out mostly at night, thats probably why he liked the black light more. I use a red heat bulb because my temps are not right with just the UTH. It can stay on all the time and I can still see him at night without interupting his day/night cycle. He always comes out about 8:00 every night looking for dinner.. thats when it gets dark here and its feeding time. Then he is out most of the night and usually still out for a few when I get up in the morning, then I dont see him again until 8. Do you hace a humid hide as well? just some things to consider. Also, the thermomter on the side isnt all that accurate. It is reading the air temps and is affected by the temps outside the enclosure as well. You need to get a reading on the substrate, chances are you will be surprised at the temp difference between the 2. My thermomter was almost 15 degrees less then the temp gun reading on the floor. Luckily it was still to cool, I could have fried my little guy. we keep our house VERY COLD...LOL

You may want to keep your house warmer or provide more heat for your leo. One of the first signs a leo isn't happy is looking at real estate ads....

well he has been checking out a few... thanks for the concern, we have adjusted the house temp and he has a red heat bulb and UTH that keep it in range. He seems happy, but you do have a point about real estate ads. Maybe Ill try the comics instead...

you have a very nice looking gecko! but you really gotta consider loosing the sand and no loose substrate. paper towels or tile is best. a darker hid would be better too. what i do with my plastic hide containers is tape the outside with black duck tape so its dark. a hummid hide would also be a good idea. he might be a blizzard or a patternless but im not sure. normally patternlesses are more yellow like this girl, and a pic of her baby.
