From what I understand, when this happens it is due to low humidity. What I do is put some warm, (not to hot) damp paper towels in a container, and put the snake in there and let it crawl around and through the paper towels for at least 15 minutes or so. That loosens the skin and they get right out of it. I had to do this a few times in the winter, due to lower humidity, now I just mist the vivs after their eyes clear, on a daily basis until they shed. Just my experience.

Has anyone ever tried the commercial shedding aid? Does it work or do you have horror stories? I have seen spray bottles of some substance that is supposed to help with bad sheds, but I try not to use anything unless I ask someone more experienced about it.

Thanks!
