Does anyone know where I can find more info on this line of hypos?
The vast majority of Hypos that I personally have produced, I can, and am willing to trace directly to Dr. Hardy's original Panamanian Hypo female. I still have one male that is 18 years old that was produced by Dr. Hardy's female in 1989. Here is a picture of one of Dr. Hardy's Hypos Great Grandchildren born here in 2006:

Wow, that thing is outstanding Jeff! Was this originally Panamanian trait immediately introduced into Columbian blood or was it kept Panamanian/central american for a while. In other words are today’s Dr. Hardy line hypos basically Columbians, or is there still a significant amount of integration going on?
The Mother of the Orangetail Hypos, and likely Grandmother, Great Grandmother etc., of most Hypos, was originally bred with a Colombian male. I don't know if Dr. Hardy always used the same male or not for all breedings but the first couple at least were with a Colombian male. The last time I spoke with Dr. Hardy was in around 1999. That female had produced something like nine litters by then from that female. One thing you have to keep in mind is that female came from the Colombian side of the Panama Canal and not that far from Colombia itself. So there isn't any reason why they should look a lot like Colombians really.

I talked to him once about this whole thing. He is not a breeder but has worked very closely with Rich Ihle. Rich would probably be the best person to go to for information on Dr. Hardy's snake.
It's a pretty cool story, don't ask me though. Go to the source.
