I was going through my collecting notes tonight. I thought that I'd had only one 4 altenra night, but it seems I've had several of them.

The first was June 18, 198X. I found a 22" light female at 2135, a 31" dark male at 2200, a 29" dark male at 2240 and a 33" dark female WAY up on a big cut 1.5 mi. E. of Langtry at 0400. Temps were , respectiviely, 84,83, 84, 79. Got another one the next night.

May 14 1988 2114, 16" med. female, 79F, 2230 32" dark male 79F, 2256 23" dark female 79F, 0200 19" light male 78F.

June 12 1988: THIS IS THE NIGHT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER
2256, 16" dark male. 2305, 28" dark male. 2305, 30" light female. Three snakes in 9 minutes, and the second two were mating in a crevice. I then got a zinger headache and crashed for a few hours. Arouond 2AM the headache was gone and I went back out and found another one. For some reason it isn't in my notes so can't give exact time and temps. The temp for the first three was 82F.

Note: my original notes were damaged so I've only been able to transcribe the collecting data on about 200 alterna. What really hurt was the loss of my collecting notes from '73 through '75. I recorded pretty much every snake I saw, and it was an amazing amount. Some nights I'd see 35-40 snakes of 8-10 speices and it was a rare night that I saw nothing. I had recorded well over 2,000 snakes during that period in TX, NM, AZ
