Hey People - I have a cali corn x

He's a reult of mating a Cali mountain king/corn x with a pure cali king.....so 66%king/33%corn.....ish!

I also have a pure normal corn

Can anyone tell me which is likely to turn out bigger as an adult please?

Also, I'm trying to tame him but it seems he goes back to being v. nervous and shy, sometimes he'll let me , other times flicking and squirming and pooing.....any tips please? I want to get him as calm as the corn but I guess it's not inherent. Proper split personality this one!

1 more please guys! An easy 1 probably but couldn't find an answer searching the web. Do male or female normal corns turn out bigger as adults?

Many thanks if anyone can help

There are lots of calkingXcorn crosses out there, they call them Jungle Corns. You said yours was from a california mountain kingXcornXcalking. I have never heard of a cal mountain king being crossed with a corn, do you know who did this cross or where I could see pics of it?

Or did you mean calkingXcorn backcrossed to a calking again?

Oh and I don't know the answers to your questions for sure but since in most Lampropeltines(kings, milks, rats, corns, emory's, gophers, pines and bulls) the males are bigger than the females I suspect the same would be true when hybridizing any of those.

Yeh, not sure of his name, but the guy in charge at Charlton Reptiles in South London bred them and I'm sure he said cal mtn king corn cross gave half a corny clutch and half a kingy clutch, then one of the corny clutch was backcrossed to cal king resulting in mine....hard to believe when there's no red bands i know, will get better pics soon. He's a creamy background with black-edged saddles that fade from dark brown to tan in the middle of each saddle, on the bigger saddles there is a white stripe 'cutting' through the saddle as it were, you can just about make this out on my crappysnap (apologies). This gives him the beautiful contrast and conker-like tones. I've seen similar patterns but with a corn-like head, mine has a distinct king-like head, black with small white markings all over. He's nippy and whips his tail round whenever I try to pick him up , sometimes going into strike position but he hasn't bitten me yet...

So a 50/50 was bred to a pure cal king and it was corny looking to begin with. That makes sense now.

he doesn't look like he has 50% mountain king in him or even 20% Mtn King.. Can you post a better pic of the whole snake.
