Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to cross-breed a tokay w/a white-lined gecko? Thanks

You can't "crossbreed" 2 different animals. It is impossible. And even if they did have babies they would be sterile.

Cross-breeding 2 different species is not impossible and does not always create sterile offspring. People have been cross breeding all kinds of animal for years-that is what a hybrid is. Many species cross breed in the wild also. I am asking since tokays are so fiesty and was wondering if a cross would produce a mellower type of gecko. Thanks.

You may have luck getting them to mate but but chances are 99.9% the eggs will be infertle not to mention all the stress you will put on the female laying all the clutches and not even get a fertle egg. Not a good idea with Geckos, their not the same as snakes.

Breeding those two Species would be ridiculous, good luck trying to find anyone who will support the breeding of those two species. The Offspring (If they live) will probably have major physical disfunctions. But Hey, go ahead with whatever you feel you need to do.

Personally I would prefer to cross breed them with a flying gecko.....maybe even a flying squirrel or a rhino. I think it would be pretty badass if you had a flying tokay with a horn....you simply cannot deny the awesomeness of that.

I was only wondering about the possibility, I'm not going to attempt such a cross-breeding.
