what is a good sized enclosure for them, i heard that 3ft by 2ft by 2ft is ok for a single adult and 4ft by 2ft by 2ft is good for up to a trio, is that info correct?

Sure, they will "work". You could even use a smaller enclosure if you absolutely HAD to. I think your monitors would still live healthy lives and reproduce. But, considering how active these animals are, its torture. I keep my pair in a 4x2 foot trough, and I still wish they had much more room. I wouldn't dream of adding another animal. But I think that I am going to try and use a 6 foot circular trough for my growing trio, and then maybe merging my two groups (maybe just the female, and giving the male away).

So, yes, this information is "correct". However, I would encourage you to go as reasonably large as you can. Good luck.

Cheers,
Ryan

Heres an important concept. Monitors are not snakes. You don't estimate cage size by the size and number, like you do snakes.

Monitors are active moving lizards, one needs as much room to move as three or four or more. The difference is size of basking area/s, number of hiding areas, etc. Those increase with number, not the size of the cage.

Please sit down and think about this. One individual, moves the same distance. They do not move end to end. Cheers
