Here's a couple of photos of a superball that I purchased a few months ago from a customer of mine. This snake was produced by Steve Roussis. I believe it is a 2002 or 2003 hatch. He is about 4 1/2 to 5' in lenght. About twice the diameter of your average ball python.

I know I will get slammed for this but why would you want to cross two good animals to make a worthless mutt.I dont buy from breeders that I know do these crosses. The albino tricolor market was killed with all the mutts.Terry

I wasn't going to breed them just curous.

why is the animal worthless?

I think its kinda interesting. I dont see much of difference in superballs than in designer morphs.

If you like him, keep him.

But the difference between a mix and a morph is the same as the difference between an AKC Golden Retriever and the dog thats left tied in the back yard that gets impregnated by the local wandering mutt in heat.

But all dogs, regardless of breed, are essentially the same species. And a group advocating conformation over health/performance is probably not a good example of an ideal breeding program model for any animal, whether it be snakes or dogs.

We already see some undesirable traits (one eye, no eyes, no tongues, neuro problems) showing up in some of the morphs - maybe because of original genetic problems, possible exacerbated by line/in breeding. Ethical breeders shouldn't continue to breed animals with these kinds of problems, but not everyone is so ethical. Dogs are much easier to spay/neuter.

I personally would rather see some healthy snake mutts than see these other problems continued. If the snakes are ready/willing/able/healthy, I don't have a problem with it. To each his own, though.

I don't mean to turn this into an anti-morph, anti-AKC rant either, so I hope no one takes it that way. They both do have their place when used responsibly.
