Pyxie eating coconut fiber

gisycard May 19, 2007 08:58 PM

I recently moved my pyxie into a tank with coconut fiber bedding from gravel and water. I noticed today when I fed him a lot of the substrate goes into his mouth too along with the crickets. I was wondering if that is ok or not? Another question if I should keep the bedding, how wet should it be?

Here are a couple pictures. "Its" name is Amadeus.

Nice looking frog, great choice.

I use the same materials for my Pyxies without any problem so far even when the accidently swallow alittle during feeding time. Frog the pic the substrate looks alittle dry, I would mist it more to keep it moist. It doesn't get in frogs mouth as much when wet/moist.

You shouldnt have a problem with "it" eating the coconut fibers, i would be more worried about the old set up and the frog eating the gravel. good looking frog though.
