Need to carry my camera with me...

bizkit421 May 19, 2007 09:20 PM

I went horseback riding with my cousin today and saw a (aprox) 3 ft garter snake... She looked extremly pregnant, and not the slightest bit afraid of 2 big horses... Got me to wondering what other kinds of snakes I might find in western PA... Do any eastern kings hail from here?

What I heard from Ace is that Eastern Kings are listed as a PA native species that has been extirpated, but that there is no verifiable evidence they ever actually were in the state to begin with. Just a few very old sight records, no collected specimen records.

Well, I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open then... Never know what I might find at the farm... Thanks...
