After a month and a half of trying to get my alterna phase alterna male to breed my albino jungle corn, I have (or he has) had sucess. He could never locate the cloaca, always just short of finding it, but today he found it. I will post some pics latter next week. Should be some interesting babies in the next couple months. I do plan to try it again with him. I did use an alterna female to get him excited. I also plan on backing him up with a butter motley cornsnake. Babies will be easy to deferintiate, as albinos will be from the butter mot, and normals will be from the alterna.

Well done on the breeding, but dont you think that backing him up with that butter mot makes the alterna mating a bit pointless, why dont you just use the alterna a few more times then just wait and see what happens, im sure you will get the result you want.

For the hell of it i tried a pinky, now im an addict and eat at least 5 a week. Its strange but when you get used to them they taste like eggs.

It has been hard enough to get him to do this breeding, and I do plan on trying to get him to do it with her once or twice again, but he also has obligations with alterna females. Also, I dont believe that the butter will have adverse effects, I could be wrong but I would assume the alterna sperm would get to the folicles first and that the butter sperm would hopefully just help in limiting the number of slugs. I could be off base, but that is my reasoning.
