I tried registering on this site a few days ago and I cannot post until I receive an activation email (which I haven't received). I emailed the moderator 2 days ago asking him about this email and he hasn't responded.

Is this normal? Sorry for posting this here, but I didn't know how else to look into this if the moderator doesn't reply.

Jim has been having a lot of issues with his server. Just be patient, and maybe resend the e-mail. He will get back with you soon.
