This makes me sooo mad!

Syco Aug 15, 2003 12:47 PM

I was just out doing some shopping and came across this "roadside zoo" that is set up in the parking lot of a local shopping center.
They have an albino burmese there that they claim is 5 yrs old, this poor thing was maybe a little over 3 ft and had skin left stuck to it from its last shed. I'm not suprised at the shedding problem since the snake was clearly dehydrated, and there was no water available for the poor thing! I told them about it and they just shrugged their shoulders. They were proudly dispaying this snake when it should have been at a vets being treated! I wish I had enough money to offer to buy it, but I don't. What can be done about these people?

Make a call to the local Animal Control and inform them of the illegal road side zoo and the mistreated animals. After they check it out and possibly seize the animals, offer to adopt the burm.

Local animal control knows about the place and it is legal,it's hard to get them to do anything about abuse on dogs and cats let alone reptiles. It was a good idea though.

Its never legal to abuse or mistreat animals.
