Shedding Scales???

byron.d May 20, 2007 12:35 PM

Hey gang. I have two '06 sibling blizzard Cal's that recently shed and both of them have shed off patches of scales, leaving the skin exposed.

I've never seen this and would like to know what you guys think..??

I'll try to get a photo later, but I dont know if it'll help. It just looks like small patches of skin where the scales were. No infection, bleeding, or swelling. The sheds came off pretty intact and clean.
I'm wondering if it could be genetic... They're small but otherwise very healthy..

Thanks for any input.

Byron,
I just had that happen recently with one of my water pythons. The scale was in tact, but it was like he shed pre-maturely or something, leaving several white spots on his dark green/olive body.

I put a very thin coat of neosporin on the areas every couple days or so. Several weeks later now, and you can't even see that it ever happened...

Thanks for the info. That sounds exactly like what happened to mine.

Thanks again.
