Not eating a week after shed????

lilbitlizz Aug 15, 2003 01:17 PM

I normally feed my 6 foot boa one rat every other week. Well her last feeding time came up as she was shedding, so I kind of expected her not to have an appetite just yet. However, it has been a full week since she completed her shed, and she is still refusing the rat. What should I do?

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a pair of BCI that generally eat very well but occasionally will refuse to take a meal. As long as nothing has changed as far as his/her environment you should be all set. Give it a try on your next scheduled feeding day and it will probably take it. I've had them refuse a few meals in a row for no reason and then just continue like nothing happened. As long as your snake is healthy and properly housed she will get her hunger back. Good luck, Scott.
