I bought this guy a few years ago from a pet store (wild caught no doubt) thinking it was a she, because I liked its color.

When I determined it was a she, I thought about getting rid of him, but he has character and I grow attached sometimes? Also, hes a pretty good eater (rats or mice and even F/T sometimes) considering hes most likely an import.

As hes gotten older, I have really come to appreciate his unique color. Its not really captured in this photo, its alot more yellow underneath than the photo shows. Maybe I will take some better sunny day photos sometime in the future.

Please let me know what you think..good or bad.

Thanks!

I know a lot of people look at "normal" males as being about half a step above worthless, but I say keep him.

1.) You've grown attached.
2.) He has personality and feeds well.
3.) If, for some reason, you ever have to sell off the rest of your collection to raise money (or whatever) you can always hold him back from the "fire sale" and not feel like you lost out on an extra $500-$2000 dollars.
4.) Even nice colored, clean patterned MALES can be used to clean up the look of a morph. Pastels and hypos would be two examples.
5.) A good pet that isn't bred is worth more than a finicky morph that WON'T breed.

Only my opinion... and, no, I am not a "morph" basher. I have a decent collection myself and personally, I think I've grown to like my snakes for their individual "quirks" and behaviors more than I do for their colors or patterns (they don't hurt, though)!

Thats what I had hoped for originally, that I could breed (if it had been) her to a nice male pastel a few years ago...that would have been sweet.

Ohh well thanks for the comments.

I say keep him. If you already have racks and feeders and enough space, one more won't make much of a difference. Especially if you like him alot.

I think everyone has one or two stashed away at some point that mean something for personal reasons over financial or project based.

He looks great. My vote keep him.

Obviously you take great pride with this handsome boy.

I think you'd be kicking yourself if you let him go.
